The Gulfview Hotel in Clearwater Beach is a 5-storey old hotel. What is so special about it? 1. Located right on the beach with big deck almost overhanging the water well equipped with tables and chairs, beach beds; 2. Pretty big rooms, very smart laid out i.e. large bathroom locates well away from sleeping area, so one can shower etc. with the other one sleeping, small kitchenette, large (for a hotel) table with 2 convenient chairs, large balcony. 3.
The Gulfview Hotel in Clearwater Beach is very clean and well maintained. We stayed 11 days there and did not find any drawbacks... except a big bar neighboring hotel property with very loud band playing till midnight daily and till 2 a.m. on weekends, so we could not sleep before they quit. Hotel management though promised to install double-glazed window to deal with the noise. all in all it was a pleasant stay. Next door to the hotel was IHOP, another 100 paces along the street was a very good Italian restaurant "Gondolier" (large menu and reasonable prices. The main Clearwater beach (maybe the largest in Florida) was about 10 minutes walk. We would definitely recommend it.
Second time staying at The Gulfview Hotel in Clearwater Beach and was not disappointed. Clean room, great view of the gulf, music from Shephard's Resort next door! I wouldn't recommend this place for families with small children as the music can be loud and continue through midnight, and there is a lot of partying on the beach. Pool is kinda small but when you are right on the beach, no one spends a lot of time in the pool, right?!
If you are someone who doesn't like the big waves in the ocean and wants something a little more relaxing, then this is perfect. Since this is on the channel instead of actually on the gulf, you don't have to worry about waves knocking you over, and less worries about rip currents. There are still some dolphin and manatee sightings. If you enjoy music and sunsets, ask for a room on the North side. This remains our favorite beach and hotel, we will be back next year!
The Gulfview Hotel in Clearwater Beach is decent. The Gulfview Hotel in Clearwater Beach rooms are dank and outdated, the hallways and stairwells aren't clean, and the staff is rude...BUT the pool area is nice and right on the beach. Everything is in walking distance and there is a tiki bar right next door. There are certainly better hotels but for the price this one isn't terrible
We ended up at The Gulfview Hotel in Clearwater Beach on short notice, after Thomas Cook had booked us into the wrong hotel, miles away from the beach. We were originally due to stay at the Holiday Inn Suites a couple of hotels down, where we have stayed before.
II won't completely disagree with some of the comments previously made, yes it does need a bit of updating, and yes the music from Shepherds can be quite loud at times, but as far as value for money goes it cannot be beaten. We paid half the amount that it would have cost us to stay at the Holiday Inn, and to be honest, after staying there before, the rooms aren't really that much better, plus there are the other perks.
Because there is no restaurant or bar, you can drink you own beers around the pool openly. Then there is the view and the beach, which you can go down onto with your beer in hand. I have stayed in posher hotels which cost a lot more but I spend the same amount of time in the rooms regardless of the price, which is basically to sleep & to get showered & changed. My advice is the stay here and save the rest of your money on good food & a good time, I know I will be doing that when I stay here again.!
Have stayed in The Gulfview Hotel for a few days every year before we go to a condo.we like watching the boats go in and out the inlet. The beach is small but the water is calm and the shells are better.we have stayed at most of the motels and this one is the most reasonable.it has a small stove and refrigerator and some dishes unlike the other places. But they are building a new motel on the south side of the building and the other side you hear the live music from the resort next door until early morning but you can't beat the price. We booked in February 8th for a mid April stay and asked for a gulf view room we got a partial view room the desk clerk was no get helpful and there was a discrepancy with the cost of the room. We asked to be moved but had to wait until the next day. Fortunately we had a better person on the desk that moved us across the hall land honored the prices quoted on the email confirmation make sure you have this with you
