Raymond at The Magnuson Hotel in Clearwater Beach was very helpful on what's near and location of hotel across from beach and the value is great compared to everyone else. Rooms were good. Not the best but comfortable. It was clean and location is great and close to great restaurants so if you didn't want to go far you didn't have to. We would choose this hotel again. We did not stay in The Magnuson Hotel but just to sleep as we were on beach all day.
If you would be there to relax watch TV and do stuff in room this would not be for you, but to stay for a couple days you'd save $$ so you can spend it on other tthings in area. The Magnuson Hotel Clearwater Beach staff was friendly as well.
The Magnuson Hotel is located in a nice location across from Clearwater Beach Florida and good food in walking distance. Room in ad overlooked ocean with patio doors. Given an end room overlooking opposite side bay. Sink leaked. Remote broken and spent an hour waiting on staff to fix. Went down to office and he sarcastically asked if I had programed. I had no clue so he finally sent me back to the room with printed instructions...however half the wording was cut off and instructions not clear. He finally came up.
Check in woman told us no breakfast rolls but they had an agreement with motel next door and go there. ? In the morning found out The Magnuson Hotel i had rolls. Not sure if she was just joking or being sarcastic. The room needs some touch up paint, etc. But...for the price and location it was nice. Not sure I would go back though. The morning guy was very friendly.
My stay at Magnus Inn, which is now Magnuson Hotel in Clearwater Beach, was very pleasurable. It was very close to the beach, shopping and restaurants. My room at The Magnuson Hotel was close to the pool, but there was very little noise. The staff there were very friendly and I got to check in a few hours early. The only things negative I can think of is the room was fairly bare and the TV had few channels. Other than that I would recommend The Magnuson Hotel and I would stay there again.
My wife and I stayed at The Magnuson Hotel for a belated honeymoon. We wanted quick beach access, but didn't want to pay resort prices. Right across the street from Clearwater public beach makes this very appealing. The price is great and they don't charge extra for internet and parking. The staff was great, very helpful and accommodating. The Magnuson Hotel pool is not large, but very nice and decent amount lounge chairs and tables to use. Now for the bad: if you are a light sleeper or particularly concerned about privacy be advised, the walls are paper thin! I could hear every word of the conversations next door and could even hear some louder college kids several doors down.
Early morning trash pickup and delivery trucks were also a problem; sleeping late was almost impossible for me. I don't expect sound-proofing in an hotel, but this was the worst I have experienced (admittedly, I don't travel a lot). The Magnuson Hotel beds are not the worst I have slept on, but are very hard (my wife did not sleep at all well) and the frame was broken on one of them. In general, it is an old hotel, but a decent effort has been made to keep it up.
The shower handle was broken when we checked in, with some effort I was able to make it work. I didn't want the hassle of maintenance, so I figured I would just mention on our way out. I guess the maid noticed on the second day, because when we came back it was fixed. Upkeeps without complaints impress me! Overall, it was very clean. Don't expect a 4 star resort, it's a Red Roof Inn! If you want a good price with amazing location and great staff, stay here...just bring ear plugs.
When we got to The Magnuson Hotel it was to early to check in so the nice ([...]) said he was so sorry and he would call me on the cell.. we went to boat races and he called soon after .. the room was big with a beautiful view. I called the front desk at The Magnuson Hotel for more towels they brought them right up.
I called for somewhere to take the children without alcohol all around and they were so helpful.. I called again to see a good place to eat..I guess I did probably ask alot but they were great.. i took the card and will always go back to that motel everytime I go back to clearwater beach.. oh except i really wanted a micro.. keep up the good job Magnuson Hotel..
