You don't have to spend big $$ on accommodations, Pelican Point was a great alternative! Very close to beach ( 5 min walk and you're there!), many restaurants, and marina activities are a few blocks away. We had a wedding and family at the Hilton and that is only a 15 minute walk. The staff was very helpful for us Clearwater Beach newbies! Rooms were clean, comfortable and colorful. Pool was nice, they even provide pool toys for kids. Laundry on site was helpful. Only downfall... There is construction on a new large hotel across the street and next door which is loud in early morning, plus blocks gulf view. My guess is construction will be done by mid 2016. I would definitely return! P.S. Our family who spent double what we did at Hilton said our rooms were nicer!
The room was spacious and clean. Great location 2 blocks from beach with plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful and the price was extremely reasonable, especially for the location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Okay so let's start with the positive about The Pelican Point Hotel.....good price, bright spacious rooms and great location. Very close to the beach and to bars/restaurants. Check-in was easy with lots of parking available. Aptly named due to Pelicans swooping and diving into the sea almost in front of this hotel. To be fair this was a budget hotel so wasn't expecting five star so bearing this in mind here's my personal opinion on the negatives. The Pelican Point Hotel pool was small and adequate but with a huge hotel being built across the road and lots of rooms being renovated at the Pelican Point it wasn't a relaxing experience the small amount of time I spent there. However the bed was quite comfortable and if you ignore the noisy air con and cover the window with a blanket for darkness it's not that bad! Loved Clearwater and if you're on a budget and want a cheap way to visit try this hotel!
The Pelican Point Hotel is close to Clearwater Beach with a little view of oceanfront from balconies. Our room was clean and roomy, we had two queens that were super comfy and a futon. Kitchen had everything you need to warm up meals and serve. Water pressure was great in shower. Walls seem to muffle any sound from neighbors so we were able to sleep good. Will stay again when The Pelican Point Hotel finishes the renovating. Parking is tricky but they give you a pass to accommodate company.
After a 32 hour journey from Durban, South Africa my wife and I arrived at The Pelican Point Hotel to the friendly smiling face of Tammy who checked us in quickly and efficiently. Our room was very clean and well serviced every day. It had a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave oven which was very handy for catering of light meals. The location of The Pelican Point Hotelwas perfect right next to the Hyatt regency where prices were way above our budget. For a very reasonable cost we had a comfortable room, a lovely pool, close proximity to the beach and shops and restaurants. Clearwater Beach is an ideal place for a vacation and Pelican Pointe was a perfect choice for the start of our visit to Florida
Pelican Pointe is a great choice for a family and budget friendly room close to the beach. The room was clean, cute, and cozy! We had a kitchenette (sink, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, cutlery, dishes), futon, and a queen bed. The Pelican Point Hotel has nice touches, like a DVD player in the room with kid-friendly DVDs and beach chairs, towels, and sand toys to use. There was also a big storage box behind the elevator on the first floor that had tons of beach gear (boogie boards, umbrellas, toys, rafts, etc) to borrow. Clearwater Beach with its power white sand is a short walk across the street and they also have a pool. The service at The Pelican Point Hotel outstanding. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The staff went out of their way to ensure our room was clean and that we had enough linens. I would definitely stay here again!
The Pelican Point Hotel in Clearwater Beach was far beyond expectations. Though The Pelican Point Hotel is an older structure, it appear exceptionally well maintained. Everything is freshly painted. Our room came with two very soft and comfortable beds, two modern flat-screen TVs with nearly 100 channels. Everything was very clean.Lot and lots of towels, which is useful given the proximity to the beach (across and down the street a block or so is a public beach) and the hotel pool. We didn't use it but it appeared clean. The Pelican Point Hotel desk staff were fine, and the room cleaning folks seemed to be doing a good job. There seems to be plenty of tourist-oriented night life in the area. A good location an easy walk from the beach, and seemed to be served well by the city trolley system. We got the room for about $130 on a Friday in the Summer. We would definately stay atThe Pelican Point Hotel again.
