We stayed for one night but we wished we had stayed for longer. The position of the hotel is just across the road from the beach but it is right next to the Marina. Unfortunately there is a new building going up partly in front of the hotel so it has meant that the view of the sunset is not available any more but I wouldn't let that put you off. You can easily just cross the small road and watch it from Pier 60 itself if you want to but the view of the Marina is fantastic. It was a great price, with spectacular views of the Marina, a lovely room, great location for the beach and the staff were smashing. We would certainly visit again but for longer next time.
The location is perfect. You are right at the Marina and you only have to cross the street to get to the beach. There are restaurants, shopping and bars/nightlife areas in walking distance or a short uber ride. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and provide great views (UNLESS YOU FACE THE CONSTRUCTION, I didn't I stayed on the 600-620 block of rooms and had a spectacular view of the marina.) You are right on the pier so you can go outside and catch a pirate boat tour, para sail or go jet-skiing ($80 per hour jet ski) There's a rooftop bar at the hotel, it wasn't crowded on at 8:30-10:30pm when we were there. Free towels for the beach. You must return them, and you won't want to steal them...but that's one less thing to pack or buy.
We found this gem after not being able to get into the Hilton and what a nice surprise it was! We had great and accessible parking for $15 a day. The Lobby and guest rooms are above the parking so all rooms get some kind of a view! Ours was the marina which was great. We got to see all of the charters come and go. Check in is 4 pm but we arrived at 3 after a great stone crab lunch at Frenchy's Salt Water Cafe. We got a room right away on the 10th floor, which coincidentally was the same floor as the roof top bar. After getting settled, we ambled down the hall to a table overlooking Pier 60 and the Gulf of Mexico. There is a construction project across the street, but that just added to the fun. It is fascinating watching a massive building go up. The wine was good, beer was good and it seemed like a tourist and locals place as well. I found out later from the director of sales and marketing, Juli Norberg, that is is also available for rent. We went out for a great dinner at Bobby's Bistro and then came home to a wonderful nights sleep. The rooms are super clean, stylish and have everything you need, including a mini frig. The next morning we went down to breakfast and there were lots of choices, from yogurt and cereals to different toasts and sausage and breakfast potatoes.
Two years previous we visited Clearwater Beach and stayed in the Hilton. We found the experience extremely pretentious. This time we opted for a different hotel - and so glad we did. From the start everything was so relaxed. Easy to park car, easy check in and easy to find the room The room was of excellent quality and a lovely veranda looking out over the harbour. My only reason for not giving it 5 star was the price. I think it was a tad on the expensive side for the actual services received. The breakfast was very basic and I think for the price paid this could be either improved or removed and thus lower the nightly rate.
My husband and I have stayed at our fair share of hotels, between the staff and the location of the hotel, it was fantastic! We were traveling through Florida for our honeymoon and came from Miami, this hotel was a breathe of fresh air! The staff checking in was beyond nice and friendly, gave us tips on things to do etc. The house keeping was beyond unbelievable! They even left a cute towel elephant the second day we were there, we also didn't need house keeping the one day so we put out our sign, they stilled called in the afternoon to make sure we did not need it! I thought this was beyond nice, most hotels would not care and move on! I love how clean and nice this was. If there were more of these around I would stay at them, when we come back to Clearwater I will def stay again and recommend to anyone I know!
If you can turn your head from the building sites opposite the hotel (actually, we found that fascinating!) there is still an amazing view to be had. Don't let the noise put you off. It is really quite minimal and finishes at 6.30 each evening. The hotel has great staff and good rooms - and that terrific rooftop bar. In itself, it is just an average space with a bar, but the staff are brilliant, the views amazing and the sunset celebration with its free shot of rum plus very welcome! Make sure you go Dolphin Watching. We chose "Little Toot" from just around the corner and were not disappointed. It takes four minutes to walk on to the beach, which has lovely sand, great birds to watch, and is spotless. Be warned, the hire of sunbeams and parasols is $25 per day, which I think is criminal!! But that is nothing to do with the hotel. We had the free breakfast included, which was simple but plentiful and we could eat looking out over the beach.
