The Barefoot Beach Hotel is in a GREAT location and facilities. We will be back. Ease of parking, check-in all made it a stress-free long weekend with kids and hubby. The room is a little smallish with big kids (ours are teens), but still a great option for a weekend stay - with little kids, you would have no problems plopping them on the pullout sofa
Overall, The Barefoot Beach Hotel was great! The front desk staff was friendly. The room was very clean, and it smelled like nothing! (Which I much prefer to a room sprayed with air-fresherner to cover up who knows what!) We loved our beach-front view and the balcony. The little kitchen area was great, and it even had plates, cups, and some silverware to use. The reason I knocked off a star is because the mattress was so hard! It was painful to sleep on it. It was like sleeping on a hard floor! I tossed and turned most of the night and didn't sleep well. Also, when I adjusted my pillows at night, the pillows made the headboard slap against the wall. I felt bad for the guests on the other side of that wall.
My husband and toddler son stayed at The Barefoot Beach Hotel in Madeira Beach for 2 nights. We live local to the area so we were already familiar with the area and knew it was a great location. The beach here is perfect. The short walk to nice restaurants and John's Pass is a great perk. The grounds at The Barefoot Beach Hotel are well kept and our room was nice aside from some very minor cosmetic issues like peeling paint - nothing major at all. The only drawbacks to me were that 1) they should update the bedspreads to white duvet covers instead of those nasty old patterned bed spreads. Those just give me the creeps. And 2) I wouldn't really call this a hotel - it's more like a condo. There's no daily maid service so you have to proactively set out your laundry and ask for coffee. This wasn't a big deal, just something I noticed. Overall, I would stay here again.
Just had a superb 2 night break at Barefoot Beach Hotel. Fantastic location right on the beach, and I mean right on the beach. The hotel offers good quality accommodation in air conditioned rooms with a lift to all floors and an excellent pool area for those who don't want to venture far. We had a swim late afternoon when it was practically empty. Excellent Madeira Beach location, great for strolling along or swimming or just dolphin spotting. We hired a cabana with two loungers for $15.00 for the day and thought it was well worth it. John's Pass is a short walk away with ample shopping and eateries. We will definitely return.
The Barefoot Beach Hotel front office staff were very friendly. We had an oceanfront room and the view really was great. Room was clean. There were some minor cosmetic things wrong in the room, but they didn’t impact our stay. The room had a small fridge, microwave, coffee pot, etc. The location is great – very easy walk to world famous John’s Pass or out to the beach. There are two different companies that do lounger/umbrella rental right out from the hotel. We’ve used them both at different times and they both are great. There is some covered parking at the hotel and that is really nice. We didn’t use the pool, but the area looked nice and there were quite a few chairs/loungers around it. Wifi is free and actually worked pretty well.
The Barefoot Beach Hotel is a cracking good hotel, nice size rooms with small kitchen area, clean, staff very polite and helpful would recommend to all, great location for the beach and shops at Johns Pass. Great little restaurant (Lisa cafe) across the road great breakfasts.
Absolutely loved this beachfront Barefoot Hotel. Room was so very neat and clean, perfectly decorated for a beachfront property, nice sitting area, comfortable bed, and small kichen area. Beach area for this hotel exceptional with great access. View from oceanside rooms beautiful. Price very reasonable. Would not even consider staying anywhere else. Very well managed hotel
My husband & I took an Allegiant Air flight from Ohio to St. Pete / Clearwater because they have direct flights with no ridiculous layovers along the way that shorten your vacation. We only had 4 days. Took a taxi from the St. Pete airport to the Barefoot Beach Hotel in Madeira Beach & arrived "after hours" at 9:30 p.m. Since our taxi driver was familiar with this hotel, he told us where to find the key so we didn't even have to call the hotel manager. We were in our room within 5 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised when we unlocked the door. It was more like a mini-apartment than a hotel. We had a king bed, dresser, 2 night stands, a table & 2 chairs, flat-screen wall-mounted TV, a couch, ottoman, a small kitchen complete with dishes, utensils, microwave, fridge, etc. and a small balcony. Not the Ritz, but certainly a great place for a beach weekend. Not brand new, but it was clean. The Gulf of Mexico is just steps from The Barefoot Beach Hotel, through white, white sand. The Gulf of Mexico water and the water in the hotel pool were warmer than anywhere we've ever been swimming....even warmer than in Hawaii and the Caribbean. We spent most of two days in the water at the beach (and in the pool). It was nearly 90 degrees outside, but we only had to share the beach directly behind our hotel with a couple of people. Not crowded at all. Unbelievable.
