Salt Rock Grill is the perfect choice for an evening of fine dining, superior service and genuine hospitality. Located in Indian Shores overlooking the inter-coastal waterway, Salt Rock Grill is your destination.
All of Salt Rock Grill Steaks are hand cut U.S.D.A. Prime or Choice Grade Beef from top midwestern feeders. We age them four to six weeks in our in-house temperature controlled aging room to develop maximum flavor and tenderness. Then we grill them over our natural oak and citrus wood pit fire.
You won't find a better steak. Our chefs have developed partnerships with local fisherman and companies that provided us with fresh dayboat caught seafood selections from our gulf waters and beyond. See our fishing fleet unloading daily on our docks.
Wine is a very integral component to the Salt Rock Grill dining experience. We continually strive to maintain a diverse selection of both popular well-known wines as well as many that have very limited availability and particularly eclectic appeal. We are proud that our wine list has maintained its status as a Wine Spectator "award of excellence" list.
Originally a New Yorker from Rochester, The Salt Rock Grill Chef Tom grew up in Kenilworth, Illinois and is proud to tell you he's the only kid from the town who still wears an apron to work. Tom's culinary life began in New York City, where he worked as a brigade apprentice chef in a Manhattan hotel.
He spent numerous years in Europe working and traveling during the 70's. After stops in London, Holland, Germany, Morocco, Switzerland and France, he ended up with his own very popular establishment in Mallorca, Spain - Tom's A Raconteur. He was traveling over 300 days a year before he decided to settle down in the NE section of St. Petersburg, FL in 1989.
The service was great, the food was very good. We couldn't have been happier. Thank you to Salt Rock Grill, the servers, and chef! “The food was fabulous” We had a smaller group so they let us order off the menu. For parties of 25 or more they have set options.
The cheapest menu option had 3 meat options: Filet Mignon, Aztec chicken and Alaskan Salmon including drinks and dessert for $35 a person. Because we had open menu we had a wide variety for all our guests. I'd say half ordered lobster and then another good portion ordered fine steaks.
We drank mixed drinks and wine. No one left that place unhappy. My only small minor prob was the lighting was so dim it was hard to take pics. But, it is fine dinning so that comes along with the package. It worked out though because we were able to chat more instead of worrying about being in a million pictures.
We have quite a few nice ones from when everyone first arrived and I am satisfied with that. If you can afford this place I highly recommend it. Its even a nice place to go for dinner for 2 maybe on the honeymoon.
There is nothing quite like Salt Rock Grill. If you think you have to choose between food quality, service, ambience, atmosphere, vibe, and view, you will be corrected upon entrance at Salt Rock Grill. It is my go-to place for anniversary dinners, birthday celebrations, family reunions, wine night with girls, and friendly gatherings. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available, and while the interior breathes from all of the windows and wood and steel fixtures, the patio and deck is absolutely stunning.
Lights loop overhead, creating a romantic glow, and the service is consistently superb whether indoors or out. The restaurant is located on the water, but it is not your average oceanic view. Rather, the landscape is lush and full, and there are a couple of houses or buildings across from the restaurant and the lights from the windows flicker on the stillness of the water. Memories are made here.
The food at Salt Rock Grill is LIGHTS OUT good. Every single thing on the menu is great. I go for the chopped salad with a side of their large raw oysters, the best I've ever had. To eat, the seafood is incredible but I'm a huge lamb fan and I think that the New Zealand rack of lamb is some of the very best meat that I've eaten anywhere. I highly recommend this Salt Rock Grill.
